A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was stabbed to death at a house in Battersea.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing at a house in Grayshott Road today (August 15).

The victim was found with a stab injury and pronounced dead at the scene at 1.41pm. Paramedics treated her for almost an hour but could not save her.

Her family have yet to be informed and a post-mortem examination will be held. No details about the woman have yet been released by police.

Met Police, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance all attended the scene.

Police were called to the scene at 12.38pm and arrested a 40-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of murder.

The homicide and major crime command have been informed, with enquiries ongoing.
