Vauxhall Bridge is reduced to one lane northbound at Millbank for works.

A burst water main has meant that Thames Water is undertaking emergency repairs, on Vauxhall Bridge Road going northbound.

TFL tweeted: "Traffic is slow around Vauxhall Cross, Wandsworth Road, Nine Elms Lane and South Lambeth Road."

The burst is on a 6-inch diameter pipe. The leak has caused some flooding to a nearby car park so we needed to carry out repairs as soon as possible.

Commuters have told to expect delays while Thames Water conducts the repairs.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for any disruption caused while we repair a burst water pipe. We’re working with TfL to ensure the work is completed with as little disruption as possible, and two lanes out of five remain open.

“We expect to have the pipe fixed tomorrow (Wednesday, August 29), and will then resurface the road so we can reopen it as normal on Thursday, August 30."
