A man has been arrested after a woman was stabbed in Battersea.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service just after 8pm on Sunday, September 2 to Burns Road,

Officers attended and found a woman, thought to be aged in her 20s.

She was taken to a south London hospital with what was believed to be stab wounds. She is in a serious but stable condition.

The male attacker then fled the scene but later in the evening a man presented himself at a west London police station in connection with the incident.

He was arrested on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody.

The victim and man arrested are believed to be known to each other.
