A large cannabis factory was found at a Furzedown address after police successfully executed a search warrant on Sunday, September 16.

The Misuse of Drugs warrant was executed in the early hours of the morning, as a local policing team from Wandsworth Common, Bedford and Nightingale.

When they executed the warrant officers found a large cannabis factory, along with bundles of cash in the property.

Furzedown Police told the Wandsworth Guardian that almost 150 plants were found and will be destroyed, along with the equipment used to cultivate the plants.

The large sums of cash found were seized and will be investigated under proceeds of crime.

A male was arrested and charged with six offences with the seventh being an immigration one so will be deported. He will be appearing in court at a later date.

PC Boys said: "Furzedown’s top reported crimes for July were Harassment, Miscellaneous Theft and Violence. Despite not being one of the top three reported crimes, we tackle all drugs offences in Furzedown Ward robustly.

"We hope that the success of this investigation will give our residents confidence in their local police, and we encourage them to work with us to tackle these issues together and make Furzedown a safer place for everyone.

"Local policing revolves around the community and responding to the concerns of our residents. By pooling our resources with those of officers from other neighbourhood teams and departments across Wandsworth we are more than capable of making significant arrests and delivering a high standard of policing to all our residents."

Among the offences the man was charged with production of controlled drug Class B (cannabis), Abstract/use without authority of electricity, possess a controlled drug Class A (cocaine), posses/control a false/improperly obtained/another persons identity document, possess with intent to supply a controlled drug Class B (cannabis) and acquire/use/possess criminal property (money laundering).

This was a successful bust as part of #drugsoffthestreet.
