After 86 years on the high street, a tool shop in Earlsfield is being forced to close.
Gatto Tools, Garratt Lane, has served the community since 1933 but due to changing shopping trends they will close.
Managing Director, Donal Woods said: “People are buying the products we sell on the internet, which is really killing small businesses.
“We have been a thriving business, serving Earlsfield and London. But changing trends have really impacted us, especially in the last two to three years.
“We are disappointed to be closing but we are only a small business and the internet is killing the high street.
“We have been in Earlsfield for a very very long time and it’ll be sad to leave. I just want to thank our customers who have supported us over the years.”
The tool shop currently has a closing down sale and will officially close either at the end of the month or when stock runs out.
