FIGURES show that Wandsworth is amongst authorities in England with the highest coronavirus Omicron cases. 

The data released by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) shows Omicron variant cases in local authorities across England. 

The figures show an updated version of Omicron cases that were previously identified as other coronavirus variants. 

Wandsworth has been recorded as the ninth highest local authority in England for confirmed Omicron cases.

Five cases of the Omicron variant were confirmed in Wandsworth between November 22 and November 28. 

An additional eight cases of Omicron were also found in Wandsworth between November 29 and December 5. 

This takes the total number of Omicron variant cases in Wandsworth to 13, according to UKHSA. 

The data was released on December 8.

Buckinghamshire: 22 

Newham: 22

Lambeth: 16 

Brent: 14

UKHSA found West Northamptonshire to record the highest number of Omicron cases in England - with a total of 83. 

The health authority revealed today (December 11) an additional 633 Omicron cases have been found in the UK.

The total number of confirmed cases of the Covid variant in the UK is now 1,898.

People in England will be legally required to wear face masks in most indoor public places. 

Covid passes proving full vaccination will be compulsory at specific venues or events from December 15. 

From December 13, people across England who can are advised to work from home.
