Jack Straw spelled out his work ethic with a humorous pair of socks on a visit to a London prison.
Mr Straw, Justice Secretary, wore a pair of black socks with the words 'Live to Work'' on them, underneath the picture of a snoring man, while he was at Wandsworth Prison.
He also took the time to announce a new package of measures aimed at tackling reoffending by getting prisoners off drugs and into work.
Mr Straw said: "I have a bit of a nightmare matching my socks in the morning - it's much easier to match ones that have messages on them.
"These ones were a Christmas present.
"I hadn't expected to draw attention to them!"
