Luxury car maker Porsche has launched its threatened legal action against Mayor Ken Livingstone's new £25 pollution charge.
Porsche lodged papers with the High Court yesterday calling on judges to quash the charge on the grounds it is "disproportionate" and "an illegal action by the Mayor".
Andy Goss, managing director of Porsche GB, said in February that thousands of car owners will be hit by what he called "a disproportionate tax which clearly will have a very limited effect on CO2 emissions".
But the mayor's office said then it wasn't backing down on the increase - £25-a-day for the most polluting vehicles from October 27 - and would fight any court action.
A decision is expected in the next few days whether the case warrants a full hearing.

Well done to Porsche for launching this legal action. Now let's have some other big companies start fighting the corrupt parking control scam. The UK has become a really nasty place, run by some very dishonest and nasty people.
