The victim of a fatal stabbing in Brixton has been named and pictured for the first time as 21-year-old Ronaldo Scott.

Police were called to Morrison Road on Monday, September 4 at around 12pm following reports of a stabbing.

At the scene, police and London Ambulance Service found a man with serious stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ronaldo’s family are being supported by specialist family liaison officers.

As a response to the murder, a Section 60 Order has been authorised for the London borough of Lambeth.

This order grants police additional stop and search powers; it is in until 1pm today (September 6).

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, who leads the investigation said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and have a number of lines of enquiry we are undertaking, including extensive CCTV collection in the local area. Ronaldo was a popular, well-liked man and his death will be felt throughout the community. My thoughts are with Ronaldo’s family and friends.”

Borough Commander for Lambeth, Detective Chief Superintendent Seb Adjei-Addoh added: “Another young man has lost his life to knife crime, and my thoughts at this time are with Ronaldo’s family, friends and our local community.

“I know that the local community will be hurting about the loss of another young man. Officers from my Community Engagement team will be conducting patrols in the area, so local people expect to see more officers in uniform. Please speak to these officers if you have any concerns."

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police have named the victim of a fatal stabbing in Brixton as their investigation continues.

“Officers were called at 12:08hrs on Monday, 4 September to Morrison Road, SW9 following reports that a man had been stabbed at the location.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man with serious stab injuries.

“Despite the best efforts of officers and paramedics, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“He has been named by police as 21-year-old Ronaldo Scott.

“Ronaldo’s family continue to be supported by specialist family liaison officers.

“As a response to the murder, a Section 60 Order has been authorised for the London borough of Lambeth.
