On Monday, April 26th, Murrell House Soiree kicked off the start of the summer term with a bang in Big School. The theme of the evening was James Bond, which was popular amongst all the staff, parents, and pupils. The evening consisted of performances from pupils, a raffle, a game, as well as refreshments and snacks that were provided.

The two amazing hosts of the evening, Lucy and Summer, opened the event with charisma and welcomed onto the stage the M4's, who performed an entertaining 007 dance. The M4 dance is a tradition each year as a part of Murrell House Soiree, which never fails to disappoint. The dance included energic gestures and actions mimicking gun fights and punches that occur in James Bond movies. After this dynamic and well-choreographed dance, the evening was followed by individual performances. Highlights of the first part of the evening include Bibi’s jazz tap dance performance, which demonstrated both her extraordinary dance ability and musicality. Another moment not to be forgotten was an original sung by Olivia, which was a heartfelt and powerful performance that really gripped the audience. To add to the lineup of amazing performances, Imogen stunned the audience with her theme-related performance of ‘Writing on the Wall', which was gripping and majestic.

Following these impeccable performances, a fun game was played to engage the audience, as was the big raffle, which raised £555 for Your Sanctuary, which is an amazing achievement. The raffle prizes were announced and organised by Tabby. After the break and the chance for refreshments and food, the second half of the evening began with a piano piece of the James Bond theme tune played by Zara. This was a phenomenal and remarkable performance that perfectly matched the aura of the evening. The complexity and challenge of the piece were well executed and were a great representation of the musical talent at Epsom. Further performances included singing from Esme and Daisy, both of which were sung beautifully and were great attributes of the evening. All in all, Murrell House Soiree was an evening not to forget, with special thanks given to the matron of Murrell and Mrs. Buhagiar for making the evening possible and so well organised.
