Three men have been arrested over a fatal shooting believed to be a revenge attack for a killing outside Wandsworth prison.

Anthony Otton, 28, was shot in the heart in Fulham several hours after the funeral of Darcy Austin-Bruce, who died from multiple gunshot wounds after being shot outside Wandsworth Prison last month.

Police were called to the Fulham Court estate at around 6.50pm on Thursday, June 4, after receiving reports of shots being fired.

They found the victim in a critical condition, but despite efforts by ambulance crews, he died at the scene.

A police spokesman said: “He was shot on the balcony in a block of flats in Fulham Court.

"We are appealing to anyone who was in the area who may have seen anything. We believe Anthony was with friends.”

Police cordoned off the four-storey block of flats to search for clues, while two bunches of flowers were laid by mourners.

It is suspected the killing may be linked to the death of 20-year-old Mr Austin-Bruce, who was shot in the stomach by two men wearing crash helmets on May 1.

He was on his way to visit an inmate in Wandsworth prison when he was attacked in Heathfield Road.

At 3.25am on Sunday this week, a 23-year-old was arrested at a west London police station in connection with the latest killing.

He was bailed along with two other men, all of whom are due to return to police in July while enquires take place.

Mr Austin-Bruce was a former resident of the Fulham Court estate, where Mr Otton lived.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Trident team, which investigates gun crimes, are appealing for witnesses.

Police returned to the scene of Mr Otton's shooting on Thursday evening, asking passersby if they had been in the area at the time of the attack and appealing for any information.

A further six men have been arrested and bailed over the killing of Mr Austin-Bruce.
