Lambeth council tenants are set to benefit from a £423,000 cash injection following the presentation of a cheque from the London Housing Consortium (LHC).

The money is a rebate for building products and services sourced from the LHC over the past two years and is to be reinvested to improve Lambeth property housing stocks, which includes Clapham.

Lambeth Living chief executive, Cathy Deplessis, said: "We are committed to providing good quality, warm, eco-friendly homes for residents as efficiently as possible. By using the LHC to source products and services, we have been able to achieve Government targets for sustainability and quality at value for money. This cheque will enable us to improve even more homes across the borough."

Mij Rahman, Business Development Manager at the LHC, said: "Lambeth Living's focus on delivering Decent Homes must be seen in the context of Government policies and the demand and supply of housing in London as a whole. What this has shown is that using LHC as a complete procurement solution can bring value for money and real benefits."
