Epsom Safer Neighbourhood officers are cracking down on mini-motorcycles being used anti-socially in the Longmead area and have warned one man his vehicle may be seized.

Patrols in the area have been stepped up after reports of unsafe and dangerous behaviour by the riders.

On June 2 a written warning was issued to a man after officers spotted him riding his bike anti-socially and his vehicle could be seized if the incident is repeated.

PC Catherine Hearn said: “It is both unsafe and illegal to drive mini-motors in any public space. The community should not have to put up with this recklessness and if people are going to break the law, they should be aware that we will take action and owners face having their vehicles seized.”

On Saturday May 22 a report was received of two people narrowly missing a pedestrian after driving at high speeds without a helmet.

To get a vehicle back after it has been seized there is a £150 recovery fee, plus £20 a day every day it's in storage.
