Hindus from all over London arrived in Tooting at the weekend for the annual Chariot Festival.
The event, which began in 2001, was organised by the Sri Muththumari Amman Temple, based on Upper Tooting Road.
The colourful parade was postponed last year as a mark of solidarity with those suffering in the Sri Lankan civil war.
Sadiq Khan, MP for Tooting, said: "It was fantastic to see the return of the Chariot Festival.
“Residents know that Tooting is never more special than when we come together to celebrate events and occasions which are important to our friends and neighbours.
“Everyone who came to see the Chariot Festival knows that it really is a unique celebration visually, and lots of fun.”
