She’s certainly a beauty, but Kelly Brook’s “killer curves” have turned out to be not quite as dangerous as experts feared.

Her naked billboard, erected recently outside Battersea Power Station, was slammed by road safety groups who claimed it would be a deadly distraction for male drivers.

But when a Wandsworth Guardian survey team went down to the scene to inspect the damage, they counted only a handful of drivers actually bothering to look at it.

One researcher said: “I can’t believe it. I haven’t seen hardly anyone look at it – and we’ve been standing here for half-an-hour.

“We thought we saw one lorry driver checking her out – but it turned out he was giving the eye to a couple of girls at the bus stop.

“Most people seem to be more concerned with the road ahead than looking at her poster.”

Our survey was carried out on a busy Monday lunchtime, but only five out of 100 male drivers paid the poster any attention at all.

Even in those cases, the researchers were unsure whether they were really looking at Kelly – or simply at the power station behind.

Ms Brook, 30, unveiled her daring 40ft billboard in Battersea Park Road to advertise Reebok’s new EasyTone trainers range.

Announcing the campaign, Reebok boasted it would “stop traffic”, prompting fears men could be at a higher risk of road accidents.

Last week, safety experts at the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) said the posters could be too distracting for drivers.

Researchers there have breathed a sigh of relief at the news that the men of Battersea seem to be safe for now.

Peter Rodger, chief examiner for IAM, said: “I’m really pleased the men of Battersea are paying more attention to the road than to this advertising. It’s definitely to their credit.”
