Christopher Wardally left a warning to others in the last message before his death, filmed in 2009.
In it he spoke of his desire to change his life and offered advice to youths.
He said he would “recover” after his prison experience and had goals for 2009.
He said: “I want to achieve, I still have targets – get a nine to five, gain some qualifications. Become a qualified mechanic, that was my dream.”
In a message to youths he warned them to stay away from drugs and crime and reject gang violence.
He said: “Be careful, don’t get caught up in this trap. If you see a man in jail you don’t want to end up like that in jail.
“I ain’t dying on that road, life is precious.
“That man got to live a life, and I’d like you to live.”
