A street dance troupe is to take part in a major dance performance in the run up to the Olympics.

UK Dance Wars, based at the Phoenix Centre, Wallington, will perform as part of a 1,000 dancer routine in Trafalgar Square, two weeks before the start of the Olympics.

The troupe, which is part funded by The Hyde Group to help provide activities for young people on the Roundshaw Estate, was set up in 2009.

Forty dancers from the group will perform in the routine.

The dance group has recently expanded to adult lessons and will now hold sessions at Sutton Arena.
