Family history detectives help locals trace ancestors
7:00am Monday 23rd April 2012 in News
Residents wanting to trace their family history are invited to pop down to either Battersea or Tooting library during Adult Learner’s Week next month.
Wandsworth’s Library service has teamed up with Family History Detectives to promote genealogy within local libraries by providing free access to computers and online resources.
The initiative, which is also running across the country, has been designed to support people living within their own communities as they search for their family history.
Six-week courses, costing £35, are planned to commence at both libraries as well as planned trips, events and activities.
The project will be launched with initial information and taster sessions on Friday, May 18 2012.
To book a place to attend the launch or the course ring one of the above libraries.
To book a place on the course call Roger Ferreira 07551627664 or email rferreira@familyhistorydetectives.co.uk.
