Garratt Lane fight leads to double stabbing in Wandsworth

Frightened residents in a quiet street in Wandsworth have told how they heard two men screaming in pain after being stabbed last night.
A man in Malva Close, which lies next to the Old Burial Ground, said he and his girlfriend heard shouting and swearing outside their house just after 10pm.
It emerged this morning that two men, one a 19-year-old, were stabbed following a fight between two groups of men on Garratt Lane, no more than 200 yards away.
Concerned onlookers called the police, who arrived shortly after 10pm, only to find the men had already dispersed.
The stab victims were found lying in the street in Malva Close where they were treated by paramedics before being rushed to hospital with life threatening wounds to they torsos.
A resident in the close taking his children to school this morning, said: "I heard the shouting last night and locked my door because I have kids. I head ambulances arrive but really glad to hear no one has died because I was very worried."
Police have set up a number of cordons around the crime scene, including the Garratt Lane entrance to the Old Burial Ground, Malva Close, Geraldine Road and West Dean Close, while forensic experts trawl the park.
The Old Burial Ground is a popular walkway for commuters in the area who use it as a shortcut.
But the cordons mean commuters are finding it very difficult to navigate the area.
One commuter said: "I've been walking around for 30 minutes and can't work out how to get down to Garratt Lane."
The Met Police announced this morning that four men had been arrested Anyone with any information about the incident should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
