More road closures in Richmond, Kingston-upon-Thames and Elmbridge for cycling time trials

Wandsworth’s Emma Pooley will take on the cycling time trials tomorrow (August 1).

The event will see several road closures with routes around sections of Richmond, Kingston-upon-Thames and Elmbridge affected.

Some closures are set to last until several hours after the event.

The first to be affected by the road closures will be Hampton Court Road (north of the roundabout to the entrance of Bushy Park). It will be closed from 10pm tonight until 5.30am on Thursday. This is to allow the building and dismantling of the finish area.

Elmbridge will see closures tomorrow beginning at 5.30am. There will be some local access allowed until 8.45am for people driving to work.

Then from 8.30am, the the southbound A3 exit slip at Painshill will be closed. Drivers who exit using this road will only be able to turn left to Byfleet and Woking. You will not be able to drive to Cobham until the race is finished.

Use public transport is the advice being given to residents of Weston Green and Thames Ditton living within the route.
