Block of flats evacuated following fire
A block of flats had to be evacuated last night after fire broke out.
Firefighters were called at about 10pm to a ground floor flat in Ashley Crescent, Battersea.
A person inside the flat managed to escape before they arrived, while other tenants in the small block of flats were evacuated.
It was put out just before midnight and was thought to have been accidental.
Firefighters fitted smoke alarms in the building before leaving.
