Firefighters from Tooting and Wimbledon were called to a house fire last night.
The crews were called to Huntspill Street at 9.35pm after receiving reports of a fire and explosion.
On arrival they found a house was alight and the occupant, who had managed to get out unaided, was treated by London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.
The living room was left gutted by the blaze and a firefighter said the property suffered a lot of smoke damage.
An investigation has begun into the cause of the fire.
