A pensioner died after being knocked down by a lorry yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to the Putney High Street at 4.40pm to reports of a collision between a lorry and a male pedestrian.

The man aged in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit based at Hampton are investigating.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene, no arrests have been made.
