Altar boy makes it to singing competition finals Altar boy makes it to singing competition finals

A 13-year-old boy has made in to the finals of a national singing competition.

Joshua Munisi, 13, of Battersea, defeated 150 other singers to make it to the finals of Open Mic UK, a national live and unsigned vocal competition.

The budding singer's smooth and husky voice impressed the judges, which secured him a place in the regional final.

When he is not singing Joshua volunteers in the community and serves as an altar boy in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Trott Street, Battersea.

Joshua will battle it out against 20 other singers next weekend in a bid to make it to the nationals, with the chance to win £5,000 and recording studio time.

The competition takes place in Dingwalls, Middle Yard, Camden Lock on October 21 and starts at 12.30pm.
