Police appeal after resident rumbles Battersea burglar
A homeowner came face to face with a burglar after discovering the thief in their house.
The burglar broke into the property, on Lavender Sweep, in Battersea, on Wednesday, October 10, just after 1.40pm.
But he was rumbled by the resident who chased him out of the house and the thief escaped via the back garden, which is how police believe he initially entered the property.
The man is described as white, aged around 28 to 34 years old, with light coloured slightly curly hair - he was wearing blue jeans and a grey t-shirt.
Police are appealing for information but are also urging residents to secure windows and doors if they leave the house.
Anyone who can assist police should call Wandsworth Priority Crime Unit on 020 3276 2601 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
