Leading Logistics Company, Europa Worldwide raised an impressive £13,500 for charity with twice as many people attending their recent Charity Fun Day.

On Sunday 29th June at Crofton Albion Sports and Social Club in Kidbrooke, Europa welcomed a record 2,000 staff, family, friends and customers to come together to help raise money at their bi-annual Charity Fun Day.

Europa, one of the UK’s leading privately owned transport companies, whose head office is on Hailey Road in Erith, has already raised £500,000 through its bi-annual Charity Fun Day since 1978.

Many Europa suppliers donated prizes for the very popular and profitable raffle. There was a charity football game, various food stalls including a BBQ, an auction and a kid’s corner which included bouncy castles and slides.

A Europa Charity Committee oversees the distribution of all the money raised and this committee consists of staff members and two directors. Over the years the funds raised have been used to support many local organisations. During the event, Managing Director, Andrew Baxter, presented Newham East St John’s Ambulance with a cheque worth £500.

Andrew Baxter commented “I would like to thank all Europa employees, their families, friends and our customers for their support and help towards making the Charity Fun Day such a fantastic day. We’ve once again raised a phenomenal amount of money for great causes local to our branches all over the UK.” Carl Potter, Administration Director at Europa, added “This year’s Charity Fun Day was a resounding success; we had over 2,000 people come and enjoy a family day out. The weather was sunny with the occasional showers later on, but that didn’t dampen our spirits.

“The raffle was a particular highlight and Europa would like to thank many of our suppliers for donating some products for raffle prizes. It was a special day and we raised a lot of money for charity.” Europa employs over 500 people in the UK at over 11 branches including 230 in Erith itself.
