The cinema in Streatham High Road was evacuated this afternoon after a mystery chemical was found in the foyer.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said 50 cinema-goers were evacuated after one person reported feeling ill after breathing gas produced by the unknown substance about 5pm.
Wearing long-life breathing apparatus, firefighters used hazard equipment to test the chemical but it was deemed safe.
The ill person was taken to hospital but the rest have been allowed back in to the cinema.
