Muslim Women of Ahmadiyya Association fundraise for Poppy Appeal.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women Association (AMWA) organised yet another charity event in support of The Royal British Legion.

President of the Bait-ul-Noor Region, Mrs Fozia Riaz presented a cheque to Ivy Poulton, Deputy Standard Bearer.

The event was held at Mitcham Library and was attended and highly praised by author Rosalind Robert, Deputy chairman of the British Legion, Christine Kelly, Ivy Poulton and a few other guests.

One of the guests recited a lovely poem 'A Tribute to the Poppy' by Andy Sherrif. Chritine Kelly admired the women's efforts and commented, 'We are so lucky to have ladies like you. We really appreciate all of your efforts. You are an inspiration for all of us. We all need to strive for peace, thanks to all of you ladies and your community, we can achieve this. You are absolutely amazing in what you do for the poppy appeal and other charities. Thank you on our behalf and of everyone in the community.'

Regional President, Fozia Riaz of AMWA encouraged the ladies and stated, 'As Ahmadi Muslim Women, it is our responsibility to show loyalty to our country of residence.'

Ivy Poulton acknowledged the role of Ahmadi women with her kind remarks: 'I feel very privileged to attend these events. You are all very brave and active women, who make this community complete. I am so happy to see all these ladies and their children working so hard, they give us hope for a brighter future.'
