YOUTH charity Snow-Camp joins the global #GivingTuesday movement and is asking the public to help them change the lives of 5,000 inner city youths across 5 UK cities.

Snow-Camp enables inner city young people to start carving out a career in snow sports, by gaining a Snowsports England Instructor qualification alongside vocational training in the snowsports industry.

The charity is looking to raise £5,000 over the next 24 hours As part of #GivingTuesday Snow-Camp is joining charities across the world asking for the public to donate to help fund important causes in the local community.

Participants work hard on the indoor slopes to gain qualifications towards becoming a fully accredited skiing instructor after one year.

Once they’re done on the slopes it’s time to hit classroom where the participants take part in life skills and ski industry sessions, to expose them to the wide range of career opportunities in snowsports.

The young people also have the opportunity to gain a range of qualifications including NVQ’s and ASDAN’s. The charity’s vision is to keep expanding Snow-Camp to cities across the UK.

People can donate as little as £5 which buys life-skills learning materials for a young person. Stacey Pender, a former Snow-Camp participant said: “Growing up here I never imagined I would have a career in snow sports – where I'm from you just don’t think it’s even an option. Snow–Camp has made that happen for me. It’s great that more inner-city youths could have the opportunity to get a career in snowsports. Everyone should have an après-ski story.”

Dan Charlish, Snow Camp’s Founder said: “I started Snow-Camp in 2003 with a small group of youth workers. Thirteen years on and we’ve helped over 7,500 young people across London, Bristol and Glasgow gain recognised accredited qualifications, work experience, volunteering and employment opportunities all within the snow sports industry. “I’m incredibly proud to launch our first ever #GivingTuesday campaign to help fund the continued expansion of Snow-Camp programmes across 5 cities.

This will enable us to reach thousands of more young people across the country”.
