StreetPlot wins planning permission for self-build townhouses. London Borough of Wandsworth has granted full planning permission for a pair of two storey, three bedroom townhouses on a former garage site on Skelbrook Street, Earlsfield.

StreetPlot’s 219m2 infill housing scheme responds to tight site constraints and required respectful design development to minimise the impact on the surrounding buildings, particularly with regard to privacy and overlooking.

As the site is at risk of flooding, pioneering flood-resilient techniques developed by the practice will be used to protect the building.

The design is a contemporary response to the local vernacular and the mixed architectural language of the neighbouring buildings. The internal layout of each house is arranged to harness the full potential of the plot orientation.

The contextually sensitive facade is created from material palette of masonry, zinc and glass with generously proportioned dark metal framed windows set in deep brick reveals.

Paul Broadbent, Director at StreetPlot, said: “The project is a great opportunity to create high quality family homes which are viable from a self-build perspective. Each house exceeds the Wandsworth Residential Design Standards and has a spacious private garden”. Project Value: £1.8m Construction is expected to start in Spring 2017.
