The Roman assault begins Mission: locate and destroy the greatest threat to Herod’s kingship ever. Target: a 2 year old boy by the name of Jesus.

RADA trained actor now Director Israel Oyelumade, who has appeared in both stage productions by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Hollywood movies, is bringing his expertise to relive the drama using dialogue and song.

He explains, “It’s fantastic to bring such an age old story to life at this time of the year. ANNO DOMINI is a collection of powerful songs and this, along with a quality cast of professional actors, makes me convinced that people of all ages will love it, whether they are discovering the Christmas story for the first time or the 100th.”

The show creative’s are a unique mother/son collaboration. The music has been written by published songwriter Sandy Callaghan-Hooks and the book by her son, screen writer, Joel Hooks (24) whose gift as a book writer presents a ‘strong and dynamic ‘ piece of writing (Carol Metcalfe, Bridewell theatre).

The show started out as ‘Christmas The Musical’ and played to a sell-out audience at the Battersea Mess and Music Hall in the lead up to Christmas 2012, then in 2014 at The Supernova, Victoria Embankment WC1.

Sandy shared, “I am thrilled with how the script and music have been developing over the years and can’t wait to hear this edgy re-enactment performed at this wonderful Covent Garden venue”.

Oyelumade continues “The long term objective is to see ANNO DOMINI do a season in a theatre throughout Autumn 2017 and this years event will give people an opportunity to journey with us and experience some of the potential of this inspired production!”
