I'm a governor of Falconbrook Primary School on the Winstanley Estate in Battersea. I applied to the Siobhan Dowd Trust (Siobhan Dowd is a popular children's author who died of cancer quite young and left a legacy for a charitable trust) for a grant to replenish our school library and we were awarded £750 to spend at a local independent bookshop.
Daunt books gave us a generous bulk discount and Ms Karlsson (lead teacher for reading skills) and myself took the kids for a well deserved shopping spree at daunt to spend the money.
