Children at Busy Bees nursery and pre-school academy in Wandsworth have been sprucing up their nursery gardens in celebration of National Gardening Week (April 11th-17th).
Staff at the nursery arranged a whole host of exciting gardening activities, which is organised every year by The Royal Horticultural Society. Children started off by planting flowers in their nursery garden that they will be able to watch as they grow over the coming spring months.
Nursery manager Evelyn Hererra said: “The great outdoors can be a really exciting place for children to explore so we want to make our garden as inviting and interactive as possible. We are already partnered with The Wildlife Trusts for Busy Bees Goes Wild- a seasonal scrapbook challenge, and things like National Gardening Week help to reinforce how magical nature can be. Involving children in planting the seeds helps to spark their interest from an early age and hopefully encourage a lifelong love of the outdoors.”
Busy Bees in Wandsworth is part of the award winning Busy Bees nursery group, the UK’s largest provider of quality childcare.
