Nurses Day is held every year on 12th May, Florence Nightingale's birthday.  It's a chance for patients and the public to thank nurses for the amazing work they do.

In the Wandle, there are 60 practice nurses in 21 GP surgeries. They have a very varied role and often look after several generations of the same family. Their work includes baby immunisations, diabetes care, asthma and COPD reviews, wound care, family planning and smear tests to name just a few!

Wandle Locality Lead Nurse Sonal Patel held a raffle at the monthly forum today, which brings the nurses together for education, advice and support. Many local businesses in Balham and Tooting generously donated vouchers for complementary dinners at their establishments to thank the nurses for their hard work. The nurses would like to express their thanks and the amazing gifts provided.
