Bluebird Care hosts their Customers for an afternoon of bingo, prizes, lunch & entertainment with a special surprise appearance from the Mayor.

Bluebird Care Wandsworth, Clapham & Streatham set the standards again and showed that they really think outside the box when it comes to caring for their customers.

On Thursday 27th July, the Home Care and Live-In Care provider hosted an event bringing together their customers, families and Carers.  Held at the Regenerate-RISE Christian Platt Centre, the day was packed with fun filled activities for both their customers and staff.

Care at home doesn’t just mean helping people with their personal care or making sure they take medication on time, it also includes making sure that people can participate in fun days and social activities – ultimately enhancing their mental wellbeing so they can live independently stay at home for as long as possible.

The event was kicked off with live singing from Bluebird Care's very own Chantel and Ricardo. The duo, who both enjoy singing in their spare time, put on a stunning performance for the customers and relatives with golden classics such as ‘Stand by Me’ by Ben E. King and ‘Que Sera Sera’ first performed by Doris Day.

Mayor Councilor Jim Madden gave a speech then customers, families and Carers were then treated to a buffet lunch with cakes and homemade treats for dessert.  Winners of the bingo received various prizes with the 1st prize being an all-expenses paid trip to Brighton!

Karina Corden, Owner and Director of Bluebird Care Wandsworth, Clapham & Streatham is passionate about the way care should be delivered and is a pioneer in ensuring our care is different and bespoke to the customer.  “We take our duty of care to our customers very seriously and know that there is much more to care than hourly visits.  In partnership with our customers we set the outcomes they would like to achieve not only in terms of care and support but also in terms of social engagement.  We know there are 70% of elderly people in our community who go through the month not speaking to anybody, and although we cannot reach everybody, this event is a great way to bring together our customers, their relatives and carers to socialise and enjoy a game or two!”
