Kingston star Blaize-s a trail at Euro trials
10:47am Friday 15th February 2013 in Sport By Ziad Chaudry
Dominique Blaize says there is more to come from her this summer, having signed off indoors by winning long jump gold at the UK Championships and European trials in Sheffield on Sunday, writes Ziad Chaudry.
The 25-year-old New Malden heptathlete posted 6.29m to win by 10cms and back up a third-place finish at the British Athletics International match last month.
Blaize is yet to be named in the British team for the European Indoor Championshiops in March, but had not planned to be involved.
“I still think I’ve got a big jump in me. I haven’t quite worked out my run-up yet, so I can change that for outdoors,” said the Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harrier.
“There are things I’m doing well in training, that I’m not quite doing in competition.
“I’m not planning to do any more indoors. I wasn’t planning on doing any at all. I’ll go back and do some hard work and come out strong this summer.”
