Leatherhead extended their winning run to four matches after comfortably seeing off Sittingbourne 3-0 at Fetcham Grove on Saturday.

An opening goal from Ian Draycott and another two from Tom Bradbrook helped Tanners move up to third place in the table, just a point behind joint leaders Hastings United and Walton Casuals.

Following Wednesday’s comprehensive win against Guernsey, Leatherhead manager Richard Brady stayed with the same starting 11 for Saturday’s match against Sittingbourne.

The visitors began brightly and threatened early, with Joe Taylor breaking clear of his marker after 10 minutes.

Taylor’s low shot produced a quick reaction save from Leatherhead keeper Deren Ibrahim. The ball bounced back to the advancing Taylor, but the forward fired wide on his follow up.

Tanners gradually took control of midfield and grabbed the lead with a well taken goal after 32 minutes.

Bradbrook broke clear at half way and picked out Draycott, who took a couple of touches before firing past Brickies keeper Adam Molloy from the edge of the box.

Leatherhead doubled their lead just before half-time with a goal straight from the training manual.

Darren Smith sent a probing free kick into the box from the right and Jamie Coyle nodded the ball down for the advancing Bradbrook, who fired home from close range.

The Brickies' best chance to get back into the game came early in the second half.

A full stretch Ibrahim tipped a thunderous free kick onto his crossbar before recovering well to gather up the ball from the follow up.

Tanners continued to press forward and Bradbrook missed out on a chance to extend the home side’s lead on the hour mark. Substitute Leroy Griffiths hit a sweeping cross into the box from the left and the tall striker volleyed wide from ten yards.

Bradbrook missed out on another good chance to add to the Tanners’ lead after 78 minutes, with a goal-bound effort well blocked by Sittingbourne captain Nick Davis.

As the visitors pushed further forward in the closing stages, Bradbrook latched onto a long through ball, to round Molloy and grab his second and Leatherhead’s third goal after 88 minutes.

Tanners head to Walton Casuals on Tuesday, with a place at the head of the League table at stake for the winners.
