Brentford striker Clayton Donaldson's goal three minutes from time extended his side's eight match unbeaten surge with a 3-2 win over Peterborough United.

Donaldson's effort was the final act of a dramatic second half that brought four goals after a Gabriel Zakuani own goal  - via an Alan McCormack cross - had given the hosts a 1-0 lead at the break.

Posh, through Jack Payne and Britt Assombalonga, hit back to take a 2-1 lead from two goals in as many minutes around the hour mark.

But midfielder George Saville rose to head Brentford level with nine minutes left on the clock and then Donaldson, with his 10th goal of the campaign, secured his side's seventh win in eight games.

Boss Uwe Rosler said: "We have shown we can compete against the two favourites for promotion.

"There was nothing between the two teams.

"The way we turned it around was a enormous effort.

"I've had some very good wins at this football club, but that was one of the best against a very good team."
