Dons boss Neal Ardley has been covering all angles ahead of the loan window closure today [Wednesday].

The arrival of 21-year-old defender Kevin Feely - who was on the subs bench on Tuesday night - from Charlton Athletic until January 4 is an insurance policy against an aging duo of centre backs.

Speaking after a 1-1 draw with Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday night, Ardley said: "We have a centre back pairing who have been doing extremely well but must have a combined age of 67.

"Can we get them through the eight games before the transfer window opens? We have a lot of recovery strategies, but can we get them through it?"

In truth, Alan Bennett and Andy Frampton's combined age is 66, but with Will Antwi's return from injury still ongoing, Ardley is looking ahead.

He added: "But we also have some powerful teams to play during this period, and although Rhys Weston can go in at center back, he is better at right back.

"If we played a big team and one of our players was injured, we do need that physical presence. It is important that we look ahead and cover all angles."
