New signings Bradley Simmonds and Aaron Wickham made little impact as Hampton & Richmond Borough crashed 2-0 at home to Grays Athletic in the Ryman Premier League on Saturday.
Former Queens Park Rangers 19-year-old Bradley Simmonds, released from Loftus Road in the summer, started in midfield, while Wickham, 19, partnered 19-goal striker Charlie Moone up front.
Former Peterborough United trainee Wickham arrived at the Beveree on Friday in the wake of the collapsed move for former York City striker Moses Ashikodi as joint boss Paul Barry bids to end his side's over reliance on Moone's goalscoring exploits.
The Beavers, currently just seven points and four places above the drop zone, travel to Lowestoft Town on Saturday.
