Things do not get easier for Rosslyn Park after last Saturday’s titanic top-of-the table tussle at Doncaster.

This weekend Park are on the road again, this time to the Midlands to face in-form Coventry at the Butts Arena.

Coventry are level on points with Park as second and third in the table. It is a match Park cannot afford to lose if they are to challenge for the title.

Park came so close to winning at Doncaster – the only full-time professional club in National League One – that there might be a danger of that disappointment carrying over.

That is not how head coach Alex Codling sees it. "As a coach you often experience the full range of emotions during a game. That was certainly the case at Doncaster.

“It was extremely frustrating that two errors in the first half resulted in two soft tries, but my over-riding emotion was one of pride.

"To be leading with 10 minutes to go shows the desire and work ethic of this group. To end up losing the game at the death is a tough pill to swallow but we will be looking to channel this emotion into next week."

He added: “I have been blessed to have worked with some great boys as a coach and this bunch are right up there.

"As ever in this league you don't get long until your next game. It is another tough one against a team that has performed well this season, especially at home”.

Codling will be hoping that Richard Boyle, who missed Doncaster with an injury, will be fit to face Coventry, along with Ben Lonergan who suffered an injury during last Saturday’s match. Such is the competition for places, though, most decisions surround who to rest.

One player who will be praying for selection is winger Dave Vincent. He left Coventry for Park a couple of seasons back and will be keen to show his old mates what they are missing.
