If Harlequins winger Charlie Walker is desperate to play in next week’s Big Game Six clash at Twickenham stadium, he is going the right way about securing his starting slot.

The 20-year-old scored the second Heineken Cup try of his career in Sunday’s 17-3 win over Racing Metro.

The result leaves Quins still in the hunt to reach the knockout stages of the competition when pool four leaders Clermont Auvergne visit the Stoop in January.

But for now Walker, a likely starter for this week’s trip to Bath, is not looking beyond the end of the month.

“You want to be part of every game, every weekend and particularly the big occasions,” he said.

“Twickenham is always a big one and we all want to be ready for that.”
