Croydon Harriers kicked off their indoor season at Sutton Arena at the South London Athletics Network Open on Saturday.

Croydon enjoyed three of the top five fastest times of the day in the 60m races with Oweka Wanogho clocking 6.94secs for third overall.

He was closely followed by junior men Aaron Adekoya and Damien Powell who clocked 6.97secs and 6.98secs respectively to finish fourth and fifth fastest out of more than 120 competitors.

Sixteen-year-old Ashleigh Clarke topped the standings in the women’s 60m with a lifetime best of 7.74secs, a time which would have ranked her 10th in the UK last year for her age group.

Young Marcia Sey also shone, clocking 8.31secs, a performance which would have ranked the 12 year-old third in 2013 for U13 girls.

The pick of the Harriers from the other age groups included Chuks Ajeh (U15 boys, 7.44secs) and Tosin Salami (U15 girls, 8.19secs).

There were also personal bests in the pole vault for Sam Haswell (3.10m), Andy Del Nevo (2.70m) and Liam Fennell (2.60m).

In parkrun action, Jake English triumphed at Crystal Palace in 17:51, and Jules Williams crossed the line first at Greenwich, clocking 24:21.
