Hercules Wimbledon veteran Kieran White was one of three parkrun race winners on Saturday.

A week after leading the club to the Surrey 10km team title at Petersham, White triumphed at Lloyd Park, Croydon, where he finished more than a minute clear of his nearest rival.

He headed home the 173-strong field in 16 minutes 44 seconds, also posting the top age-graded performance.

He kept up an impressive record posting his seventh win in eight appearances at Croydon.

It was also his fastest time over the undulating circuit since recording his personal best time of 16:33 back in August 2012, and was just 11 seconds outside his best time for the course.

Clubmate Andrew Penney repeated his debut appearance win in May when he led home 184 runners in the Bishop's Park event in Fulham in 16:41.

However, he was 34 seconds slower than his time in May although he also won the race by more than a minute.

Over 45 veteran Jeremy Purnell posted his second-best time in 11 appearances in Bishop's Park in finishing ninth in 19:02, just seven seconds slower than his best set at the end of May, while Daniel Bratton chopped 26 seconds off his previous best time set in January in finishing 14th in 19:32.

Hannah Bye was just 12 seconds outside her best time for the course in finishing second in the women's race in 21:10.

Over 35 veteran Graham Pennie posted a personal of 21:29 in finishing 43rd, while teenager Isabella Kessell also posted a personal best in finishing fourth in the women's race in 21:52.

Over 45 veteran Lisa Thomas continued her winning sways in the Wimbledon Common parkrun where she once again headed home the women's field.

She posted the top age-graded performance as she finished overall 27th out of 352 runners in 19:52.

It was the first leg of a busy weekend for Thomas as on Sunday she turned out in the Harry Hawkes 10 miles road race at Thames Ditton where she broke the Hercules Wimbledon veteran women's over 45 club record with a time of 66:36.

She was 44th out of almost 350 runners finishing eighth in the women's race.

Her time smashed the previous club record of 76:01 set by Alison Purnell at Battersea Park in March 2012.

Third in the women's race at Thames Ditton was Amy Aronson who was just 21 seconds behind the winner in 63:31.

Thomas was one of 18 Hercules Wimbledon runners in Saturday's Wimbledon Common parkrun.

First of the gold and red sash-vested Hercules Wimbledon runners to cross the line was 12-year-old Harris Mier who finished 10th in a personal best time of 18:19.

His time sliced 31 seconds off his previous best set in July 2013.

Peter Collins was second over 40 veteran finisher in 11th place in 18:29 with Charles Hampden-Smith runner-up in the over 50 category in 19:14, while Gina Galbraith was second woman finisher in 20:03.

Elsewhere, Tom Cheetham, who was top veteran over 45 finisher in 19:40, also had a busy weekend as he took part in the Capital Runners 10km event in Bushy Park on Sunday finishing 27th out of 334 runners in 39:53.

On the track, Hercules Wimbledon's Dwayne Cowan clocked a season's best in finishing third in his 200m heat in the Sainsbury's British Athletics Championships at Alexander stadium, Birmingham, on Saturday, in 21.56.

But, with only eight of the 26 runners in the four first round heats progressing to the final best was eliminated. He was 15th fastest.

This weekend, Hercules Wimbledon's youngsters are in action on both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, they are competing in the second of this season's Lily B girls league meetings at Croydon, while on Sunday the boys are contesting the third of this season's Ebbisham League meetings at Stompond Lane, Walton.
