Rosslyn Park banked another five-point win last weekend over Old Albanian, four of their tries coming in a tremendous second-half performance.

The win takes them up to fourth position in National 1, three points behind the joint leaders Ealing Trailfinders and Richmond.

With the two top sides meeting this weekend, Park can climb further up the table if they can win again.

However, the long trip up to Tyneside to play Blaydon has not been a happy one for them in recent years, having lost on each of their last four visits.

Blaydon are in a rich vein of form - last weekend their strong pack brough them back from a 9-12 half-time deficit at the Rectory Field to beat Blackheath by 29-12.

Park Head Coach, Alex Codling, believes his men will be up for the challenge. “I was particularly pleased with the performance in the second half where we started to show patches of what we are capable of.

“The conditions in the first half were pretty tough and you have to give credit to OAs who threw everything at us during the last 20 minutes of the first half.

“There was a real balance to our game in the second half which allowed us to push on and get the win.

"I was delighted with the work ethic in defence which resembled us as a team last year. To keep a team like OAs try-less is a massive credit to the boys.

“This week we have one of the biggest physical challenges in the league away at Blaydon but the boys will look to build from last weekend and are looking forward to the challenge.”
