Teddington Swimming Club’s Anna Smail led the way with one county title and five further medals as the club kicked off Middlesex County Championship season in Barnet in style at the weekend.
The 12-year-old clocked two minutes 11.76 seconds to claim U13 200m freestyle gold before collecting silver in the 100m and 200m backstroke in quick time.
Eddie Hunt, 11, set a new personal best time of 5:45.14 to win the U12 400m individual medley, before adding 100m breast stroke silver and 200m breast stroke bronze to his haul.
Jacob Patterson won three U13 silver (200m freestyle, 200m breast stroke and 100m backstroke) and two bronze (100m breast stroke and 400m individual medley) medals.
And Thalia Poaros, 13, won U13 200m butterfly silver and 400m individual medley bronze, while there were a further four medals for the Teddington team.
Head coach Ed Sinclair said: “It was a great start to the counties 2015, the team atmosphere was at an all- time high which led to some great racing.
“The team is really looking forward to the second weekend.”
The championships continue this weekend, where talented 13-year-old Sophie Fussell is hoping to break some British records.
