Sutton United’s Glen Southam sits down and tells Joe Duggan about his first goal, his relationship with Tottenham Hotspur and a dog called Joe.

First goal: That would have been when I was about 19 or 20 for Bishop's Stortford in the Conference in about 2000, but I don't remember much about it.

Pet: I had a labrador called Joe from when I was about three years old. I had him until I was about 14. He was part of the family.

Hero: Glenn Hoddle. I was named after him and my whole family are Spurs fans. I was at Spurs as a kid and I grew up knowing a lot of the players.

Holiday: My first family holiday was to Athens, but my first boy's holiday was Ayia Napa in 2000. I had not long left Spurs. I was invited by some of the Enfield Town players and that was my first initiation into a lads’ holiday.

Drunk: That's a mad question, because I first got drunk when I was 24. It was at my best mate's flat, with Danny Foster. After a few minutes he said, 'Come on have one'. I do not drink too much.

Medal: Obviously I have won a couple with Bishops Stortford, but I won the Conference with Dagenham. I was 24 at the time, the whole squad was very young. It was like winning the league with your mates.

First car: A little Mercedes A-Class when I was 23 years old. I had that for about two years. It was an automatic. I prefer to drive automatics.

First FA Cup final: Back then when I watched the FA Cup, the tradition was to watch with the family. My Dad worked with Spurs and I was at the 1981 FA Cup Final against Manchester City.
