Teddington amateur star Billy Allington says he is ready to take his boxing career to the next level, as he prepares to make his debut in the Queensbury Boxing League.

The 20-year-old youth worker will make his competitive debut in the televised series on May 9 at Epsom Downs racecourse against Essex contender Muhammed Seif.

And now Allington has set his sights on reaching the very top of the UK boxing league.

Allington has travelled as far as America to take on some of the best in the unpaid ranks, and reached several national quarter-finals as well as claiming silver medals at the Haringey box cup in London.

However, the Teddington boxer will not have far to travel for his next outing as he embarks on the next phase of his boxing journey.

He said: “The Queensbury Boxing League is an exciting new platform for me to progress my career and take it to the next level.

“I can’t wait to be competing on such a big stage.

“I did well in America and enjoyed my time there, but now the goal is to make a name for myself in the league and ultimately win belts.”

He added: “Style wise I’m a very creative fighter who likes to mix it up and use angles against my opponents, and that is what my fans are going to see in the league.

“I don’t want to give too much away in case Seif is reading this, but I’ll be more than ready on May 9 and I’m really looking forward to boxing in front of my fans.”
