The year 7 football team of Carshalton Boys Sports College are celebrating after rewriting the history books to become the college's first team to win the London Schools Cup.

The boys, known as the Swans, were crowned winners after defeating Emerson Park Academy of Hornchurch 2-1 at the Robert Clack Leisure Centre in Dagenham.

Both goals were scored by Striker Dylan Adjei-Hersey, who has also hit an impressive 60 goals in all competitions this year for the Swans.

The team, managed by Danny Dudley, have completed a domestic cup double this year, as well as finishing runners-up on goal difference in the Sutton League, all in their first year of secondary school.

Dudley said: "What a first year the boys have had. Their hard work, effort and determination has really shone through and they all deserve the success they have achieved.

"Hopefully we can carry this form into next year."

Head of PE Steve Bosdet said: "It’s an absolutely amazing achievement, we are all so proud of the boys and it has been thoroughly deserved because they have all worked so hard."
