Three-time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker made a good impression on his hosts when he turned up to support AFC Wimbledon last night.

The 48-year-old German watched from the stand as the Dons took on Dagenham & Redbridge in League Two, and promptly lost 1-0.

Becker, who has a home in Wimbledon, was in London as coach for Novak Djokovic, who secured the ATP World Tour title at The O2 Arena on Sunday.

The Dons commercial director Ivor Heller said: "Boris has a home in the area, and ever since the Liverpool game he has said he would like to come to a game or two.

"He was a true gent, and hopefully we'll see him down here more often."
